Graytronics Ltd. was formed in 1987, producing specialist intercom systems for use in motor sport and offshore racing boats. In fact we soon became the principal supplier of intercom systems used on almost all offshore racing powerboats. During this early period we were approached by the Ministry of Defence to provide prototype intercom systems for their fast inflatable craft. After successful trials, full sized 12-way intercoms were commissioned in 1989. These proved to be very reliable in service, and in 1990 we provided a prototype intercom system for the Royal Navy's Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs). Our 4 man/ 4 radio operator system has now become the standard new/ OEM or retrofit system for the British Navy RIBs and other vessels, also used by foreign Navies. We have since developed motor cycle and competition intercoms, all evolving from the exacting standards of our military-standard equipment. Graytronics' systems are now widely used throughout the world.
